The Designer’s Cut comes with a few bells and whistles like extra skill trees and cosmetics for your skin, a new weapon trinket and ECHO device skins but the real meat of the content is the Arms Race mode. I’m always eager for new content, so let’s dive in to see if getting Season Pass 2 is worth it…įirst let’s start with the Designer’s Cut and also keep in mind you can get both of these DLCs separately if you wish.

I’ll start by admitting that I’m quite the Borderlands fan and even got platinum’s for both PS4 and PS5 versions of Borderlands 3 (after they finally patched the PS5 version’s trophies).

Ultimately, it remains to be seen, but if the Designer's Cut is any indication, Borderlands 3's Director's Cut may just be bigger and better.īorderlands 3 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.Should you pick up what is probably the final Borderlands 3 DLC? Whether that's a fifth skill tree (which would be getting out of hand) or some new way to play these, it seems almost like a requirement since this season pass is focused more on gameplay than story. Speculatively, that means that the new cosmetics of the Borderlands 3 Designer's Cut are likely to find counterparts in the Director's Cut, and perhaps, just maybe, Borderlands 3 could add something to go toe-to-toe with the new skill trees. Perhaps this endgame content could take this classic approach however, one mode, a few quests, and a few extras doesn't really stack up to the Designer's Cut, assuming Director's Cut is to be as big if not bigger than it. There's a dedicated Borderlands 3 fanbase who want to bring raids back to the game, and it feels like it has been teased forever. It's likely to be at least on Arms Race's level, so fans can expect a new way to play, or perhaps an old way. Smaller side quests and extras are good and well, but the main focus of the DLC is likely the new endgame content. Instead, it's likely to be a few smaller side quests, perhaps exploring some tidbits set after the story, and likely through the purview of a "director's cut." After all, behind-the-scenes extras are also confirmed, although what that is exactly remains to be seen, but perhaps the most interesting confirmation is new endgame content. There is supposed to be "Additional Missions," but this doesn't sound like a formal story DLC. So what does this mean for Borderlands 3 Season Pass 2's Director's Cut? Right now, there are a few things confirmed to be included. Not to mention, "Assassin One" Zane brings back memories of trying to deduce the mysteries of Zer0, 0ne, and FL4K. The latter shows what the characters would have become if not Vault Hunters, which is an odd thing to highlight. These additions are definitely the highlight of the DLC, but they are also joined by the Multiverse Final Form cosmetics.

One thing fans have loved, though, is the addition of new Skill trees in Borderlands 3: "Trapper" FL4K, the "Enlightened Flare" Amara, "Bear Mother" Moze, and "The Professional Zane." Arms Race is a new game mode that involves roguelike elements, a unique-if-not-altogether-perfect addition to the game. Looking at the Designer's Cut addition, there are a few notable things that may inform the Borderlands 3 Director's Cut.

The former may very well give some indication of what the latter may contain in B元. Whereas that one brought in four-story based DLCs featuring returning Vault Hunters like Gage the Mechromancer and Krieg the Psycho, new planets, and brand new stories, this second season pass is split into 2 different gameplay-oriented additions: the Designer's Cut and the Director's Cut. Season Pass 2, however, is an entirely different beast from the first. Of course, it's not a total surprise given that Borderlands 2 only had 1 season pass but that was years ago, but it's still more pleasant content for Borderlands 3 fans. Borderlands 3 is over one-year old and going strong, with Gearbox shocking fans of the franchise when it announced that it would be getting a second season pass.
